Wanna hack you Intel CPU Fan?

Enable your Celeron CPU Fan tachometer

As most of you have noticed, your Intel Boxed (RETAIL) PPGA Celeron Processor, the CPU FAN that come with it doesn't include the third pin which is use to detect the fan speed. Here is a simple modification to save you from buying another CPU fan just for the rpm readings.

All you need is know how to solder, a piece of wire, a 2N3904 (NPN) transistor and a 100k resistor (all these should cost you roughly 20 cents.)

How? Is simple...

Step 1: First you peel up the nice sticker and you should see a solder 'point' is not connected, solder the 100k resistor and the other end hook up w/ your 2N3904 Base.

Step 2: Now connect your 2N3904 Emitter to the ground (follow the black wire)

Step 3: Finally wire the Collector pin from 2N3904 to your connector. And put the sticker back.
