This pic features my sister
DEBORAH CLARKE - #2-SLOWERTHAN... - "Jellyfish"
and me riding on a Kappa's car in the Greek
parade. That was a long, fun-filled day which ended with a major party in the
basement of the Kappa house! We were definitely in the midst of the celebration!
Notice the barrage of Kappa Kanes in the air as the Kappas and Kittens went by.
You may be able to see a Kappa in the midst of it all, coming toward the front
of the procession; that is DANATHAN LOFTON who we lovingly called "DANK!" He was
an ALPHA XI Kappa that gave SLOWERTHAN... pure hell while we were pledging. But,
we love him to this day! He actually became one of my favorite brothers.
Now, this picture mainly features my sisters from ALPHA XI. I cannot remember all
of their names, but I can tell you about the ones I was close to. The Kitten that
is stooping with the kool boots on, was one of my favorite Alpha Xi sisters. I
beleive we called her "Sweet and Sassy." If this is the right Kitten, her name is:
ANGELA CAIN - The 13th SHADE OF MAHOGANY.
We played Bid as partners from time to time at
the Frathouse. She is a good person and I enjoyed her company very much.
The Kitten on the far right with her hand on her hip was one of my #1 partners!
Her name is:
ANGELA BIGGERS - #18-THIRD DIMENSION - "Slinky".
We
had SO MUCH FUN together! We did parties, clubs, and many Kappa functions
together. There was always a group of us travelling together. One evening, a few
Kittens gathered at my apartment to get dressed for some major event that night.
Angela was slightly depressed so she decided to relax with some "Wild Irish Rose"
wine. She went beyond relaxation and "The Rose" took over. Without going into the
major details (because she would kill me if I told), needless to say, we were
late for the event. But sisterhood involved caring and being there for each other
no matter what the situation was. I beleive we left her at my apartment sleeping.
She was normally lots of fun to be with and we were very good friends and close
sisters. Wherever she is, may God be with her always.
The young lady at the far left is
CHYNSIA MONTGOMERY FOWLER
who I lovingly
call "CHYNI." She was one of my 'ACE BOON KOONs' back in the day! Chyni became
one of us before she even pledged. By us being together alot, she was also with
my sisters and me quite often. We finally convinced her to pledge the Kitten
Klub, but unfortunately, that year, Theta Eta went through restructuring, so her
line never went over. So, in all of our hearts, she is a Kappa Kitten 'by default,'
but she will be my friend until the day we die. We still see each other from
time to time and the love is still there. In addition to being Kittens, we are
kindred 'Artist spirits' as well.
I cannot remember my other two sisters names who are also in this picture. It's been over twenty years! I can tell you that they are Kappa Kittens from the ALPHA XI Chapter, and I do remember seeing them when SLOWERTHAN... pledged. They are definitely part of THE BOND and will be Kittens until the day they die.
