I wish I knew if there really was a Rainbow Bridge

If there is a Rainbow Bridge,
I know you couldn't be happy there, without me.
Myth says,
That you would be gleefully playing.

I know that cannot be so.
I picture two Rottweiler silhouettes, Never moving,
Eyes watching in anticipation
Waiting for me to come to the bridge.

You have been my most loyal friends.
You have never been without me,
And I,
Without you both.

I have always been there for you,
My heart breaks to pieces,
That suddenly I can't be with you,
To love and care for you, like I always did.

How could you be in a place of happiness,
If I am not there.
How can I go on with my life,
Without you here.

If you are waiting,
I hope I won't be too long.
If I knew that you were there,
Waiting alone.

I would gladly take my life,
So to join you,
And to enjoy and cherish our adventures,
Throughout all eternity.

I can't believe that I have several of
Your lifetimes to live out.
How can I do it without the two of you.
Your time with me is almost over now.

Also, if you wait for me.
Please do try to enjoy your stay, and take comfort in each other,
For you will still always be there,
Forever in my heart.

I hope that time goes by quickly there.
And it doesn't seem too long.
Until then, I will live with my broken heart,
And long to touch you both again.
