In the 1880 census of Kings Co, NY, Nellie and her two children were living with her parents. There was no mention of the whereabouts of Henry. But Henry A. Middleton, clerk living on 296 9th was listed in the Brooklyn City Directory. But Nellie and Henry did have Henry in 1882 according to the Brooklyn birth records. By the time the 1892 city directory came out, Nellie was listed as the "widow of Henry".
In the 1900 Brooklyn census Nellie was shown as being born in March
1860 (40yrs old) and living alone. Was this the same Nellie? If this is
the same "Cousin Nellie" as mentioned in Marjorie Leighton's baby book,
then she was still alive
