Navy Cryptologic Veterans On-line Conference Procedures

This page contains installation instructions for using IRC via your ISP (Internet Service Provider). They supplement the information found on the previous page.

Click here for instructions on using IRC via AOL.

INSTALLING mIRC AND USING ISP ACCESS

1. Download and install a chat client. MIRC is the most popular for the PC
and IRCLE is the most popular for the MAC.

2. Once the client is installed, sign onto your Internet Service Provider
(ISP). When it finishes loading, click on the client ICO.

3. It will bring up a screen of chat servers. US.CHAT.ORG is NOT on this
list, and must be added. Instructions on how to add chat servers to the list
can be found in the help section.

4. After US.CHAT.ORG is added to the list, click join.

5. This will bring up a screen of channels. #NCVADEN is NOT on the list, and
must be added. Instructions on how to add channels to the list can be found
in the help section.

6. After #NCVADEN is added to the list, click on it, and then click on join.

Now you are ready to chat.
