Welcome to Lost Images of World War II. Here you will find original photos taken in Europe during World War II. You will find never before seen images of German, American and British aircraft and vehicles; devastated villages, ancient cathedrals and breathtaking views of the French and German countryside. You'll also see the faces of some of the American soldiers who were there, including my grandfather, Jerry Pinkowski, who took most of these photos. World War II veterans are truly a dying breed. Soon there will be no one left to tell the story. However, photographs can tell a story of their own. I encourage any visitors to contact me if they can help add to the missing pieces of my grandfather's story, by identifying the buildings, landmarks or machines pictured at this site. Even if you can't identify anything, pease take a moment to sign my guestbook. To all the people that have contacted me with information, I thank you. And to all the people who have tried, but couldn't because of the bad email links on this site, I apologize. I'm in the process of fixing them now and hopefully updating more of the site on an ongoing basis.
