*Bulletins*

The CHINA ART EXPOSITION '99 that will take place in Beijing this 15 to 19 September 1999* is a very special opportunity for pyrographers around the world to show their work as a group.

*Note (update as of 8 May 1999): Up until now we have been following last year's models (showing August dates) while waiting for the official dates to be announced.

Ken Li of Szenzhen, PR China is the pyrographer responsible for getting us an invitation to participate in the Beijing show. Ken does not have his own website as yet, but you can see his works in the Ken Li Salon here in the E-Museum of Pyrographic Art. There are still more works by Ken Li being shown in the Pyro Cafe Down Under. And there is a fully illustrated article entitled Chinese Fire Works, Fine Line Portraiture by Ken Li telling Ken's story, showing his work, and telling how it happened that Ken got IAPA an invitation to participate in the Beijing show.

If you would like to contact Ken to discuss his work or ask questions about the Beijing Art Exposition this coming September 1999, or just to say hello, you can contact him by e-mail at: [email protected]

If you would like to find out more about the CHINA ART EXPOSITION '99 that will take place in Beijing this 15 to 19 September of 1999, go to the website linked here to see pictures of what last year's EXPO was like. You can also contact the general manager Mr. Dong directly or write to me, Kathleen Menendez here in the USA, or to Mixo Sydenham in Australia, or to Ken Li, IAPA liaison and coordinator in China. Besides these links, here are some particulars written out for your future reference:

Mr. Dong*
General Manager
Exhibition Center
China Cultural and Art General Co.

*Notes (update as of 8 May 1999):

1) Mr. Dong's assistant is Miss Jie Han. Any correspondence can go through Miss Han (it may be that the e-mail address is hers not his). She seems to be the contact there who is English speaking, and she is the one who sent the formal, official IAPA invitation by mail. (Note: I have scanned the header and the footer and retyped the letter itself in html code to include it here for you to read. It was truly very exciting to receive the package in the mail with the information, which includes an application form, rules for the participants, and a floor plan of the exhibit hall. Click on the IAPA invitation link to take a peek.)

2) Mr. Dong replaces Mr. Guo, whose name was listed here previously. The e-mail address is also a change.

For our purposes, Miss Han will be our point of contact.
