Dear God, I need to say something
as I kneel before you now
my eyes are closed in reverance
and my head is humbly bowed

Tears begin to sting my eyes
and the alter before me seems cold
I've got so many things, oh God
On which I've got too firm a hold

My life is full of shadowy nooks and crannies
into which your light can't seem to reach
and I come before you now
hoping somehow I can put my feelings into speech

The preacher's words reached into my heart
and I think I'm ready to say
that I'll give my life to you
I'll no longer wait for "another day"

Take my life, Lord and mold it to you
let me be a living testimony to others
of what you can do

Take my feet, Lord and make them yours
show me the way in which to go
and if I travel the wrong path, close those doors

Take my eyes, Lord and let them shine
with the love of God
and spread it to all mankind

Take my mouth, Lord and let it say
that the world will not last forever
but God has another way

My life is in your hands now
yours forever, are the dark pockets of strife
I shall not hold on to them any longer
Because I'm praying now, take my life
