The text editor is one of the most important decisions a PL/B
developer has to make. For anyone that programs full time,
making the wrong choice can be extremely detrimental.
We use SlickEdit in
our Windows environment. It allows you to configure and
program it to work better with you language, which we have
done with PL/B. From what we saw of MultiEdit
it appears to be very similar to SlickEdit in functionality.
(Even some of their dialog boxes look exactly the same. Go
figure.) We would endorse both of them.
Since being in business from 1979 we have used Datapoint
Edit, Datapoint Easl, Sunbelt Edit and Borland Brief. All of
these do not come close to the functionality of SlickEdit (and
I am assuming MultiEdit). If you are a power user take a look
at both of them.
