Meeting Minutes - June 2, 2008
Attendees - Myssi Lyon (Committee Chair), Pat & Cindy Frey, Tori Blazer, Johnerik Wenar
The committee decided on our next neighborhood activity� a Community Fun Day which will be held on Saturday, August 16th from 12-3 PM at the common area (front of the neighborhood, grassy area between Portwood Ln. and Old State). We will be having food, activities for the kids and area vendors. Each committee member will be contacting area businesses and other volunteers to come out and set up booths with information about their organizations and businesses. We will also be soliciting the ideas and help of our homeowners via the message board. As the participants are confirmed, more information and updates will be posted to the message board.
At the Homeowners Association meeting in May, a suggestion was made about developing a contact list of people in our community that have specialized services or home businesses - the Activities Committee plans to set up a table at the Community Fun Day event to begin gathering this information.
Johnerik had inquired about our area's Chamber of Commerce and who we would reach out to for information on local area businesses. Tori will follow up with board members to confirm this information.
The Welcoming Committee will initially be part of the Activities Committee. The goal will be to contact local area businesses, restaurants and other establishments to begin compiling a folder full of great area information to present to new homeowners in our community. Also included in the packet will be information about our Association, Block Watch and of upcoming community events. Myssi and Johnerik currently co-chair the Activities Committee so we are looking for added volunteers to focus on getting the welcome information put together, as well as a separate Chair person to head this up.
There was interest expressed in developing a community Logo - one that we could associate with all community news, mailings and flyers. This would allow homeowners to be able to easily identify these communications. Pat Frey offered to begin work on this.
Myssi advised we sold $20.75 worth of donated items at the Garage Sale.
**The next Activities Committee meeting has been scheduled for Monday, July 7th at 7 PM. It will be held at Myssi�s house, 548 Cricket Run. All are welcome to attend.

Garage Sale:
- Decided on dates May 24th (8AM-4PM) and May 25th (12PM-4PM)
- Each homeowner to have own sale at their respective homes
- Donation table to be set up at Myssi�s home, with the proceeds to go toward future activities planned
- Advertising on Craigslist.com will be placed and updated daily by William, beginning on May 17, 2008
- Flyers to be created and distributed to all homeowners in the community with the garage sale details ** Tori will create and have to Susan to print by 4/31/2008... Susan will have the completed flyers to Myssi so that each member can pick up a stack to deliver over the weekend of May 3rd
- John Eric arrange for the advertising in the SNP paper a week prior to the garage sale
Activities Committee Newsletter:
- Discussion of creating a newsletter to be distributed to homeowners with upcoming events (frequency of these newsletters is TBD)
Future Activities:
- Ideas were discussed for upcoming community activities, such as a Hawaiian Luau, Casino Night, Tailgates, Movie Night, Community Potluck and some �kid� friendly activities. We also discussed possible off-site locations, such as Wynstone Park (just north on Old State) and the park at the corner of Flint and Park
Communication:
- Would like to re-activate the Committees link on the message board so the committee has a place to post their updates and minutes ** Pat to update
