PLOT:
A world famous German scientist, Dr. Brinker, decides to experiment in genetics by forcing a prostitute to sleep with a degenerate criminal who has been condemned to death, in order to discover what the laws of hereditry would produce in their offspring. The scientist adopts the product of this union - a girl, whom he calls Mandragora. She is kept in a convent til she is sixteen but early on displays an evil nature. She escapes the convent and pursues a life of crime and seduction until Dr. Brinker finds her and brings her to his home. He is in love with her, but after she reads his diaries and the circumstances behind her birth, she ruins him morally and financially. Brinker decides to kill her, but she is rescued by Dr. Brinker's cousin, who suddenly arrives at the house wher he's been chasing her. Brinker dies of a cerebral hemorrage and Mandragora leaves with the cousin to start a new life.
