The members of Divchata V Kukhni are all first and second generation Ukrainian Americans. Their performances have brought them in contact with and allowed them to sing with Nina Matvienko, national folk artist of Ukraine, and members of the Ukrainian National Folk Ensemble, Veryovka. A presentation of Ukrainian music as part of the Cleveland Huntington Harborfest held at the Cleveland Port Authority. Performances took place on board the Ukrainian schooner, Bat'kivshchyna. July 13-14, 2001. [Cleveland, OH]
Performance of Music of Ukraine A presentation of Ukrainian music as part of the Pittsburgh Ukrainian Festival held at the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh campus. September 24, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. [Pittsburgh, PA] Ancestral Voices An original dance theatre piece featuring the poetry of Oleksander Oles, Lesia Ukrainka, Taras Shevchenko and Mykhailo Drai-Khmara. Traditional Ukrainian folk music was arranged and provided by Divchata V Kukhni. Presented on June 29, 30 and July 1, 2000 at 8 p.m. at INSIDE Art Gallery.
