~My '30 Model A Ford Coupe~
Here is the humble beginning. I started with this raggety rotted out coupe body. When I brought it home, my wife was in shock that I had actually paid for it! But I knew it had potential. Now I needed a chassis. |

Here we have the rolling chassis. I purchased the bare frame for a mere $400 and build all my owm suspention, 4" dropped tube axel, 65 Mustang steering box , 40 Ford spindles, mid size Chevy disc brakes w/the use of Speedway Motors low buck brake kit. I added a 350 Chevy motor backed by a turbo 350 automatic and a 10 bolt Chevy rear-end. I made all the mounts and brackets. |
|
Well, here we are in platinum grey primer, one year after I first started. I chopped the top 41/2" put in a new floor, firewall, fender wells, and new body panels on the lower 10" all the way around. We added a rumble seat. |

After alot of debate, I desided to go with the YELLOW! I found a stock 30 radiator shell in the local swapsheet for $20.00! I couldn't believe my good fortune. A Walker radiator was purchased and finally I could start it up to drive in and out of the garage. (Not that it was heavy to push!) |

Here you see that I have found a visor and a pair of somewhat ragged front fenders at a local swap meet for $60. Also, at this point I had to change the headers. |

Now 21/2 years from the get go, we have window glass, rear fenders and hood from a dear friend who also helped me scrounge around for alot of small yet important thing (moldings, door handles, latches, hindge for tip-out windshield and dash rail). We have license plates, inspection, insurance and LIFT_OFF!! |
|
I figure that I was lucky and had about $1.25 per pound invested and I couldn't begin to estimate the hours of enjoyment.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this project!
