This picture shows a basket sitting atop Formula 400's most identifiable feature: Its scooped plastic hood. The basket contains many of the items that set Formula 400 apart from the masses. These items include: Specific Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor, Hurst manual transmission shifter, HD piston and connecting rod, camshaft, and HD flex fan. Quite a formidable array of parts. Notice that the call-out on the hood scoop identifies this Formula 400 as something even more special: A Ram Air car. Ram Air was a rare and very desirable option on the Formula that put it on par with Trans Am in the engine compartment. This option included a special camshaft, carburetor, and the now-famous Ram Air induction system.
