The final of the KasparovChess Cadet Grand Prix is set and the names of the participants don't surprise. Bu Xiangzhi of China and Teimour Radjabov of Azerbaijan, the two highest rated players in the event, will face off on January 14 online in the KasparovChess.com Events area.

The stage is set for a smashing final match. Both players dominated their opponents in rounds one and two to set up this battle of the favorites.

Bu Xiangzhi entered the final at the expense of Ukraine's Zahar Efimenko. The GMs of KC and the spectators who logged on to watch the games live were amazed by the ease with which the young Chinese dispatched his powerful opponent.

They played a sharp sacrificial line of the Sicilian with a piece sacrifice by White that is considered insufficient. They zipped through the theory of the opening, Bu Xiangzhi playing the first 20 or so moves in five minutes! The two-knight finale is well worth a look, check it out in the Game Links.

Teimour Radjabov made the final of the KasparovChess Cadet Grand Prix Online after his scintillating win over strong Russian junior Vladimir Belov. His 1.5-.5 win displayed the 12-year-old Azerbaijani's amazing confidence in unbalanced positions.

The KasparovChess Cadet GP has made the papers in a big way. The online coverage got millions of hits from China alone after Bu Xiangzhi won his first round encounter against Maxim Rodshtein. We're taking it on faith that they are saying nice things!
