Chapter 72, Comings and Goings |
Kevin sighed to himself as he picked up his phone to call the airlines. He was dialing the last digit when he decided to hang up. He pondered his actions for a moment before dialing Brian's phone number. "Yeah, Kev?" Brian questioned as he picked up the phone. "You sound like shit. What'd you do? Party all night long?" Kevin joked after hearing Brian's hoarse and weak voice. "Yeah, something like that." Brian replied. "He was fucked out of his mind!" Kevin heard AJ roar in the background. "So, what's up?" Brian asked, unsure if Breanna had told him if she had called Kevin. "Eve and I are leaving tonight to LA." Kevin replied. "So I guess Breanna did call you." Brian sighed. "Yeah, she did." Kevin answered, unsure of what else to say. "So, you're leaving tonight to LA?" Brian questioned. "Yeah, I just said that." "Sorry, Cuz. It was a really long night." Brain said. Kevin chuckled to himself remember what Brian was like when he was hungover. "Hey, Kev. Hold on. AJ's mumbling something." Brian stated as he put the phone on mute. A moment passed before Brian was back on the phone. "Well Cuz, looks like you're gonna be havin' company. All of us are going." Brian stated. "Who's 'all of us'?" Kevin asked. "Me, AJ, and Nick. Natasha's out of town, Izabel is with Breanna, and Mya's..." "In Germany, I know." Kevin said finishing Brian's sentence, something that annoyed him to no end. "Well, then I'll book three more tickets. Be ready by ten tonight. We want to go after Sarah's bedtime that way she'll sleep most of the way." Kevin explained. "Um, Cuz, don't babies sleep all the time anyway?" Brian jokingly asked. Kevin sighed, "Just be ready, alright? We'll meet you guys at the airport." Kevin hung up the phone to see Eve standing on top of the staircase. "It's a family affair." Kevin explained as Eve held Sarah in her arms. Eve only nodded her head with a slight grin on her face before turning around to finish packing.
Brian hung up the phone and turned to AJ and Nick who were standing around the living room. "Looks like another 'Fantastic Voyage' to LA, fellas." Nick smiled broadly as he remembered all the fun times they had together in LA while AJ nodded his head knowing that it wasn't a vacation they were going on. "So, it's about 3 o'clock, the plane is leaving at around 10 or 11. I'm not sure cause Kevin hasn't booked the tickets yet, meaning you have less than 7 hours to go home, pack, figure out who's going to house sit, pet sit, and how you're going to tell your women that you'll be in LA for God knows how long, before you have to have your ass at the airport." Brian explained quickly. "Whoa, Brok! Slow down and say that again in more than one breath." AJ stated. "Huh?" Brian asked, not able to comprehend how they could not understand him. "Bri, you're talking to Nick! NICK! Say it again." AJ replied with a smirk. "Hey, I'm offended." Nick said, glaring at AJ. "Oh yeah? Then tell me what he just said." AJ replied. "Um, well..." Nick was at a loss. "Brian? Care to elaborate?" AJ joked. "You have 7 hours to go home, settle your business and pack before you have to be at the airport." Brian explained again.
Breanna slept until 5 PM and was completely refreshed when she woke up. She smiled and stretched as she sat up in bed. She looked out her window and noticed that it was snowing again. "Only in LA." She commented to herself referring to the odd and strange things she had seen in her life. She glanced towards the end of her bed and saw her mail waiting to be read. "Thanks, Izzy." Breanna commented as she grabbed her mail. "Bills, bills, bills, fan mail, fan mail, fan mail...how the hell did they get my address? Ads, ads, bills, fan mail, oh a new magazine!" She cooed as she tossed the rest of the mail on her bed. It was Edge magazine, the newest top 40 music magazine that was designed for the 18 to 30 crowd. Breanna along with the Boys were always in it. "We could fall off the face of the earth and still make the cover." Breanna joked as she flipped through the magazine. Even though it wasn't designed to appeal to the Teeny Boppers, there were still some pin ups in the center. Breanna flipped over her own poster looking for the article that they had written about the Boys. She found the article and skimmed it, looking for anything interesting. She noticed an interesting question directed towards the guys. 'Who was the first love of your life?' The interviewer had asked. "What a question!" Breanna said aloud. Breanna giggled when she realized that she really did want to know the answer. Breanna propped up her pillows against the headboard of her bed and snuggled down against them as she read the magazine. Brian was the first to answer and said that the first woman he thought would be the love of his life was his ex, Rachel. AJ's answer sent Breanna into a whirlwind of laughter. "I thought the first love of my life was Mya, then we broke up and I realized I was wrong, then I thought it was her again, then we broke up, then I thought it was her again, then we broke up, but now I'm sure that it's been her all along!" Breanna re-read it again and smiled. "Good save, buddy." She joked. Next to answer the question was Kevin. He mentioned his ex girlfriend, a name Breanna had never heard mentioned before. "Eh, *really* ex girlfriend. No need to bring her name back up, I guess." Breanna reasoned as she read what Nick had to say. "I don't know how to answer that, really. I never had a *first* love of my life, just an *only* and that would be my girlfriend Natasha." "Oh, how sweet! I wish I had a guy like that." Breanna whined, acting like a high school girl dreaming about the perfect guy that always seemed to be dating the other girl. The last person to answer was Howie. Breanna swallowed hard before she continued to read on. "Who was the first girl I thought would be the love of my life? Is that the question? I guess I would say Breanna. She is the first, last, and only love of my life." He had stated in the interview. Breanna felt a tear slowly fall down her cheek. She continued to read as the interviewer questioned him about the break-up. "It's not completely over. That's all I can say." Howie had answered. "What would you like her to know if she reads this?" The interview had continued to ask. "Just that I love her, but she already knows that." Kevin, being the one who always took control of situations, quickly stated that that was the end of the girlfriend questioning. Breanna changed the page and noticed a two page article on her. It summed up that the tour had whipped her out, she would probably be leaving the record label to concentrate on more private projects with the help of Nick Carter, and that she might sell her house in LA to buy a house in Orlando to be closer to the Boys. "How do they find this crap out!?" She questioned loudly, but before she could read further the ringing phone caught her off guard.
Howie was driving towards Sunset Blvd when his cell phone started to ring. "Hey AJ! What's up?" He greeted. "Um, you're not going to like this but I thought I'd let you know. We're all on our way to LA." AJ explained. Howie was silent for a few seconds as he concentrated on the curvy and snow covered road. "D?" AJ asked slowly. "What took you guys so long? I figured you all would have been on the same flight as me." Howie jokingly said. "Actually Eve demanded that Kevin take her out there so we all thought we'd go along. We have nothing better to do out here, anyway." AJ stated. "Yeah, well, alright. Want me to pick you guys up?" Howie knew that there would be too many people coming to fit in his car but he was used to be overly polite. "Yeah right, man. Like all of Sarah's things are going to fit in your trunk." AJ said sarcastically. "Hey, you don't know kind of car I got." Howie replied. "Probably a BMW. You and Brian, I swear!" AJ shouted. "Yeah, you're right, I did get a Beemer." "Well, you can pick me up. I'm sure Brian's gonna get his own rental and Eve and Kevin will probably rent a U-Haul." AJ joked. Howie laughed a bit as he watched the road. He was contemplating on turning around. The roads were just too icy and curvy. "Hey D? What are you doing?" "Well, I was actually going to go see Breanna but the roads are just too icy so I'm thinking of turning back. I haven't had enough sleep to really concentrate on driving." Howie explained. "yeah, good idea. Turn back. Go to the hotel and SLEEP! I don't want you killing us tonight when you pick me up." AJ stated. Howie laughed as he made a slow U-turn. "I'm on my way back to the hotel as we speak." Howie informed his friend. "Well, I'll let you go so you can concentrate on the roads. I'll call you as soon as we find out our flight information." AJ stated. "Alright man, talk to you later!" Howie replied before hanging up.
