Chapter 65, Months Passed

Two months flew by for Breanna as she stayed in LA. Her house was finally finished to her liking, Mitchell had left back to New York to start filming a new movie the month before, and contact with everyone back in Orlando was minimal to none. Every time one of the guys flew out to LA to see how Breanna was, she fled town, claiming that they had bad timing and she had other plans with friends elsewhere. The only person who actually saw Breanna was Izabel.

"Hey D! Party tonight at Bri's." AJ stated as he helped himself in to Howie's house. Howie was sitting at his kitchen table reading over some new condominium development plans as he glanced up at AJ to acknowledge his presence. "I'll try to make it! I haven't been partying in a long time. Maybe I should stop sulking around and do something with my life." Howie explained to his best friend as he placed the papers down to give AJ his full attention. AJ sat down next to Howie and was blown away. "Who are you and what have you done with D?" AJ asked as he peered into Howie's eyes. "Oh knock it off, man!" Howie laughed. "I'm serious, AJ. I need to recognize the fact that Breanna is off in her own little world. When she's ready to talk things through, and if I'm still willing to be with her, then fine, but until then I need to get on with my life." Howie replied. "D? You okay?" "I'm fine!" Howie replied in an annoyed voice as he went back to reading over his paper work. "When did this change come about? You seeing someone else?" AJ asked, afraid of the answer. "No, I'm not seeing someone else. Actually, I talked to my parents today and I finally listened to what they've been telling me for over a year. Breanna has her own issues to work out and I'm not helping her by making her feel guilty for breaking up with me. She wanted me to get on with my life, she wanted me to be with someone else, to be happy. She did everything for me. So, I'm gonna do it. I'm going to try and move on and if things work out later, then they work out!" Howie replied with a slight smile. "Well, D. I have to hand it to you. I'm impressed! Now, about that party..."

Breanna wondered around her house and took a few notes about what she wanted to change. She heard her phone ring and ran to pick it up. "Hello?" She said out of breath. "Already out of shape, Bree?" Izabel replied with a laugh. "Hey girl! What are you doing? What's up?" Breanna asked. She was happy to talk to someone who had her completely figured out. "Not much, I'm in town for a few days. I wanted to know if you wanted to go the gym with me?" Izabel asked. "You're in town? Where's Thomas? Brian?" Breanna didn't quite understand. "Thomas is with Brian in Orlando. I'm visiting my sister for a few days. She's graduating from that school for fashion designers, I forgot what it's called." Izabel explained as she waved her hand in the air, unsure about where her sister went to school. Breanna laughed, "some sister you are! You don't even know what college your sister goes to." "Yeah, yeah, whatever." Izabel replied in mock annoyance. "So, let me get this straight, Iz. You left Brian in the care of Thomas?" Breanna asked with a giggle. "Haha, very funny, but come to think of it, I guess so! No, seriously though, Thomas is almost 4, he'll be okay with Brian for a few days. The guys are back in the studio so they couldn't leave and I wanted to see you anyway, and I couldn't do that with Thomas." Izabel explained. "Well, let me go put on my gym clothes. What gym do you want to go to?" Breanna asked after she realized that she and Izabel may have had memberships to two different gyms. "Bally's?" Izabel asked unsure. "Okay, that's fine. How about the one in Norwalk? It's kind of far but very private compared to the ones near by. I really don't feel like being seen in public." Breanna explained as she picked out an outfit to wear. "That's fine. You're driving!" Izabel teased.

Howie walked up to Brian's front door and raised his fist to knock on the door. "Hey, D! Welcome!" Brian slurred. "Hey man! Where's the wife and kid?" Howie asked with a laugh. "Eve and Sarah? Dunno. I think Kevin left them somewhere." Brian explained as he walked back towards the room where music could be heard blaring. "No, *your* wife and kid." Howie clarified. "Oh them? I don't have a wife. I had a kid with...who is the kid with? I forgot. Number's on the fridge." Brian replied, pointing to the kitchen as he started dancing with the first available woman. Howie found a pretty girl standing around and asked her to dance. After ten minutes Brian's face lit up. He stopped dancing and made his way over to Howie. "Yo D! I remember where my wife-girlfriend person...FIANCÉE! That's it. I know where she went. She's with your girl in LA!" Brian stated with a slight laugh. "What!?" Howie shouted. "Yeah, something's going on. Go to LA, man!" Brian shouted. "Brok, me and Bree aren't together any more, remember?" Howie tried to remind Brian. "Oh shit, that's right. Sorry, man!" Brian replied. "No problem, it's been over a year."

Breanna looked at her calendar that stated February 2003. "I'll be 24 next month." She exhaled. She walked around her house silently looking at the baby's room. "Sarah's going to love this room." She mumbled as she continued to take a tour of her empty house. She quickly remembered that she had to pick up Izabel in ten minutes and she wasn't dressed for the gym. She threw on her navy blue sweat shirt and matching sweat pants. She piled her hair on top of her head and placed a hair pin through to secure it. "I look like shit!!" She shouted as she peered at herself closer in the mirror, staring at the under eye circles. She grabbed her Mac concealer and dabbed a little where she needed it. She put a little lip gloss on and was finally happy with her appearance. "No one will recognize me, I hope." She prayed aloud. She grabbed her Nike duffel bag and threw in a towel and bottled water before running for the door. When Breanna arrived at Lita's house, she honked the horn. Izabel came running out the door with a large smile on her face. "Damn, Brian must be in heaven!" Breanna stated. Izabel was always a stunning woman but she looked different lately. Her black hair was cut a few inches bellow her shoulders, her green eyes wide with happiness. She was 5'6" and had the curves every women killed for and every man drooled over. Izabel hoped in the car and gave Breanna a large hug. "Wow, you've changed a lot!" Izabel noted. Breanna nodded her head with a slight smile. "Things have changed. I'm just in denial." She defended. "Going to the doctors?" Izabel demanded. "YES MOTHER!" Breanna shouted as she put her BMW in drive. "Just checking. If the others don't know, at least I can try to make sure you're okay." Izabel stated. "I know, I know." Breanna sighed. "Talk to D?" Izabel questioned already knowing the answer. "You know I haven't. The only people I've really talked to is you, Eve, Natasha, and Nick. But with Nick it's all business." "Breanna, Hun, I love you like a sister. So do the other guys. Tell them. Because the way I look at it, you're out of time."

Howie left Brian's party and started walking around the front yard. He didn't know what to do. He felt helpless. Breanna had broken up with him in September 2001. It was almost a year and a half later and a little over six months since their night in London and he still loved her more than ever. She occupied his mind and heart. "God, this is so hard!" He said looking up into the heavens. "What do I do? Caroline? You always gave me advice when I was younger about girls. It's been years since you left us and I miss your advice. You would know exactly what to do. I just wish you could give me a sign. Just something that would tell me what to do. I love her more than anything. I know she still loves me. I just want to help her. I just want to know why she pushed me away. Help me, please!" He shouted into the air. He stared at the stars trying to make out constellations through the Orlando smog. In the corner of his eye he saw a shooting star. When he turned his head to watch it, he noticed a familiar looking star. It was large, bright, and orange. A man came into vision. Orion, the hunter. Betelgeuse, the armpit star of Orion. Betelgeuse, their star. His and Breanna's. A smile came across his face as he looked back up. "Thanks, sis." He whispered as he turned to walk to his car. "Where you going?" He heard AJ shout. "I have somewhere to be. I'll see you guys when I see you!" Howie shouted back as he hoped back in his car and sped off.
