Peer Assisting Leadership Program
This year we will be introducing the P.A.L. (Peer Assisting
Leadership) program in our community. These means that an experienced leader
will be teamed with a new leader to help her get started, give information
about having a meeting and be there as a friend and listening ear.

Stories about Values from Troop 4025
My Values
Once I had a friend named Abigail who was made fun of by everybody in second
grade. I felt this was wrong and stood up for Abigail. When they said,
“Abigail, you look bad”, I would stand up for her and say, “You don’t have
the right to do that just because she looks different from you.” They would
shrug off my words, but stop tormenting. This is the story of my values.

When I use my values
When I’m doing my homework I tend to do everything at the last minute, until
this year. In 5th grade I found I have a lot more responsibilities.
Including time.
I use my values in many places. I need to use my values to write down my
homework so that I remember when I get home. Secondly, I have to do it in
spare time or before extra curricular activities, even if that means doing
it in the car. I don’t have to finish it before after-school-extras, but it
helps. Then comes the hard part, I have to pack up everything the night
before. It’s hard to do everything at once in the morning.
My values help a lot. They help keep me organized. That helps keep me out of
trouble at school.

Some of the things I value
I value school because I can have perfect attendance and I have a locker.
Some other things I do is have science. I love science and the library
books. Also, my friends from school can help me with some things and the
teachers too. My favorite thing about school is to learn science.
School is a great way of learning a whole bunch of things. Like reading,
science, math and to be smart. Just like all the things you can learn every
single day.

Loyalty to my Friend
I have this really good friend that was teased, bullied and made fun of.
Just because she was a little different, people that I knew thought she was
weird.
Even though they could stop being my friend because I sat by her on the bus,
I didn’t care because this girl was a true friend. Eventually, I had had
enough of this teasing to my best friend from people on the bus. So, I said
to myself that I’m going to solve it.
I decided to have a talk to the counselor about it to see what she could do.
She said she’d have a talk to the boys who treated her badly. She did have a
talk with them and they stopped!! I was so happy for my friend.
The point of this story is that I was loyal to my friend in saying I was the
one that told the counselor about it. She’s my best friend in the world! I
find the true her in the inside. A lot of people look at her from the
outside.
