About Us

Suburban Maryland Business and Professional Women is one of 20 local organizations of BPW/Maryland (md) and one of 2,000 local organizations of BPW/USA. Nationwide, BPW represents more than 70,000 members, all of whom are dedicated to building a better future for working women and their families.

Whether it's lobbying for equal pay or networking with colleagues, building career skills or building a business, BPW is there to help you be successful.

Our goal, at all levels of BPW, is to promote full participation, equity and economic self-sufficiency for America's working women.

Our issues are those that matter most to working women: equal rights, pay equity, better child and dependent care, fair pension laws and equity in insurance, better health care and equal opportunity in education and training.

Founded in 1919, BPW was organized for the purpose of promoting the interest of business and professional women. It is the oldest and largest organization of working women.
