What are friends? Do you qualify to be a friend or is your friend really your friend?
Friends are people who care about you and you care about him/her.
They will never abandon you or "play you out" and neither would you if you are his/her friend.
They would stick with you through thick and thin and tell you when you are wrong in a nice way.
They are almost always there for you
They are people that trust you and you trust them.
They are people that you can turn to if you need help or are troubled.
They would never betray you and would tell you when they feel uncomfortable about something.
They usually don't let you down and are almost always ready to fork out time for you.
You are willing to change FOR THE BETTER when your friends tell you.
Friends wish the best for you and you do for them.

On a more quiet note, friendships between opposite genders is a controversy mattter. Is there really such a thing as plutonic friendship? Or it might be, initially and end up with feelings of love and liking. What would you do if a girl or guy who has been your good friend for over a year comes in and tells you that she or he has been liking you for sometime? What would be your initial response especially when you treat her or him as a good friend all the time and has never seen her as the opposite sex. Will the friendship come to an end? Or will you try to give a chance for the "thing" to happen?

What if you know that it will never happen? Plutonic realtionships have happened plentifully in many people's lifetime. Whether it develops is a very unpredictable thing. The best realtionships start from friendships and slowly develop. I lucky, it may develop to brotherly, sisterly feelings. Yet being such confused creatures as we are, we might misinterpret our feelings and end up thinking that it is True Love between couples. What should be done then? I have no idea too.

But definitely, friendship is the best relationship to start with and develop from. For a parent to get close to the children, it is often the case of :"My child treats me as a close friend." Wouldn't that be the best? To have a close friend that would be MOST unlikely to hurt you or harm you. Perhaps if that is the case for everyone, the world would be a better place.

Definitely, the way to break and build a person is definitly through friendship....

New!- Ever since I entered the Polytechnic, I've had a few friends that are girls and they are my first exposure to the fact that girls can be friends too, but more than not, I realise that I can never expect to treat girls as guy friends. The reason? - PMS. For example, I've had a few very good female friends and I crack jokes on them, make fun of them as they do me, however, I realise that certain times of a month, they cannot take it and then they get angry with me which on normal circumstances is usually nothing. They become petty all of a sudden. I don't know if the girls themselves realise it, but a fact is that after a few days, when the "thing" is over, they admit that the past few days, they got the "thing".

I realised then that to be friends with girls is exceptionally hard unless you know when not to make jokes about them....which again...is hard.....
