This entry is covering the period of a few days. If anything that should tell you how much fun I had at Merlin's party on Saturday - so much fun that I couldn't really sleep - so much fun that I woke up the next morning from my good two to four hours of rest rejuvenated, and ready to continue the celebration of Mer's birthday. It was a really cool party. I got there and was introduced to Merlin's tighter circle of friends. It was cool to see who he hangs out with, and he definitely made good choices. I enjoyed everyone I met - the only slight exception was a guy named Josh, who had a bit of overdosed testosterone. There was a nice variety of people, and an equal balance of girls and guys (at least for the night). When I walked in the door I actually laughed. Coincidentally, one of the girls I had met the night before (Friday night swing dancing) happened to be one of the girls at the party, and a good friend of Merlin's. Describing the events of the party itself would take quite some time - there was a lot of talking of course, but we also watched three movies over the night, listened to music, danced, swing danced, ate pizza, and more. It was, like I said, a perfect party. If I could relive that night over and over again, I probably would. I was exposed to many different new things - none of them inappropriate per se, but all of them interesting. Nathan, a 21 year old, bought the alcohol for Strawberry Daquiri. Nathan's friend Frank brought "A Holy Book" (A bible with a hole in the center, where he keeps his stash of weed). I only had a little bit to drink - I really didn't want a hangover, and I know the effects of alcohol on the developing teenager, so I chose to drink responsibly. However, I didn't let that keep me from having fun. I enjoyed watching the movies and enjoyed spending the time with Merlin on his birthday. Another thing . . . Merlin, you invited good girls to the party. Sara was certainly a pretty girl. We all know Amanda is a pretty girl. Liz is definitely a very pretty girl. Tina isn't bad either, you know? I was cold in the middle of the night, and Liz and I shared a blanket on the couch. That was pretty neat. Believe it or not, it was my first experience lying on the couch with a girl. To be honest, I'm surprised I wasn't more "excited" than I was, but I guess I'm used to being around girls and touching them. It felt good to be close to a girl though, definitely . . . she was warm, and she's definitely sexy, and I was cold. I don't know if she's just a flirt, or whether she was flirting with me that night. I really don't want to think about it, because as she said, "Thinking gets you in trouble." At 5:00 A.M., I woke up from my hour of slumber, and walked into the kitchen and sat down on a chair and watched the sun rise. Sara asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. We walked down Merlin's hill together, picked up his paper, and walked back up. We talked about a few things, and it was nice to meet her as a friend. So, there you have it. Girls, exposure to new atmospheres, and a happy 19th birthday to one of the better people on this Earth. Thanks Merlin, you're a good friend. Take care my friends. Back
