Frequently asked questions for making/creating/playing a brujah in the Necropolis setting.
1. Can I play an elder?
no.
2. Why not?
Because we said so. No, not true. The Necropolis By Night game has been a chronicle for over four years running. Like any other long-running chronicle, there are already elders in place. Is this fair? Yes. To the people who have spent the last four plus years cultivating characters from where you are right now to where they are currently. Patients is a virtue, especially when creating characters with eternal life.
3. Why do you get to make the rules?
Well, every game has to have a gamemaster or storyteller. In the Brujah game within the Necropolis by night setting, we do it diplomatically (in theory). STs are nominated, the people nominated accept or decline the nomination- then anyone on the e-groups list can vote to who they want as a head ST. Then the head ST appoints his assistants. The only requirements/restrictions to being the head ST is you cannot hold an In Character position. Why? Ask the people who play those characters- they are busy enough as it is.
4. What if I don’t like the head ST or have a problem with one of the assistants?
Tough shit. No, if the head ST has done something seriously wrong, bring it up over the e-groups. It may just be a misunderstanding. If you have a problem with one of the assistants? Bring it to the Head ST.
5. But the Toreador/Tremere/Venture/Gangrel/Malkavian game isn’t like that! Why are you guys special?
All clans in the Necropolis by Night campaign are overseen individually by separate head StoryTellers. Those storytellers make up the CoST (Circle of Storytellers). Each clan can make up their own guidelines (within reason) of electing storytellers and character sheet processing.
6. The approval person is taking forever to get back to me. What the heck is going on? Am I expected to wait till I get word back to play?
No way. That is downright no fun. If the approval process seems to be taking a long time, we ask that you please please pretty please be patient with us. At any one time the approval storyteller could have one to twenty sheets to look over in a day. And storytellers are allowed a real life on occasion. So if you are anxious to play, go right ahead. The only thing we ask is you stay away from using stats until you are on our approved list. This avoids conflicts if anything needs to be changed. And if you still feel the approval ST is taking an extraordinarily long time to get back to you, drop him an email note or try getting him on ICQ.

7. I walked in and said hi but no one wants to play with me! What am I doing wrong?
Well. Go outside. Walk into a bar. Say hi. See how many people respond to you outside of a wary glance. Now imagine you are an undead (paranoid) creature in a room full of undead (paranoid) creatures. Your lucky if you get a glare of contempt, let alone a nod of hello.
8. So then how do I start off my interaction in the game?
Well, playing an undead (paranoid) creature, there are a few suggestions. You’re a Camerilla kindred, therefore you should be looking for certain people: your Primogen, the Prince, Seneschal, maybe the Scourge. Before a kindred enters the city they usually try to find out some information on the city before they go barreling in. So work that angel- you see people not involved in conversation, try politely asking if they know x y or z person. Common sense is key here.
9. Is there an e-mail group for in-character notices for the clan?
Why yes, there is. Two in fact. Well one is for the clan specific:

and the other is a moderated new post for all kindred: The Kindred Network. Drop an e-mail to those two sites to get added.
