BOWLING

The Bowling's meet the last Sunday of June every year at the Waidsboro Ruitian Club building off Rt.#40 W between Rocky Mount-Ferrum,VA-FRANKLIN COUNTY,VA. Most would be surprised to see the spelling "Bouldin" even though it only goes back to my gggrandparents. Everyone brings a dish and then we chip in (pass the hat) for the rent of bldg./paper supplies such was plates, cups, etc./ mailing costs, etc. for the yearly event. INVITATION

You are invited to a reunion of the descendants of Jacob Nester

Jacob Nester was born in 1766. Jacob and his wife, Catharina, had 13 children. The names of the 13 children are as follows: John, Nancy, William, Polly, Joshua, Frederick, Abraham, Andrew, Sarah, Elizabeth, Daniel, James and Jonathan. There are an estimated 450,000 descendants alive today. To celebrate the 233rd anniversary of his birth we are having a reunion at the VFW Hall in Hillsville, Virginia, on July 31, l999.

The reunion will be a two-day occasion. On Saturday, July 31, registration will start at 8:30 a.m. Following are some of the activities we are planning:

A genealogy presentation

Sharing of genealogy records, don't forget to bring yours

Computer copying of old photos, don't forget to bring yours

Showing of a video tape of the migration from Pennsylvania to Virginia

Gospel music by H & H Gospel Express

Blue grass music by a Nester blue grass band

Folk music of the Blue Ridge Mountains by Ricky Cox

Potluck lunch

Games for all ages

Tee shirts and caps for sale to offset the cost

Sunday, August l, will begin with breakfast at 9:00 a.m. Sunday worship services will begin at 10:00 a.m. We will try to have the lunch on Sunday catered.

Sunday afternoon will be for socializing and getting to know cousins.

The reunion will officially end at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday does not require a reservation; however, it would help us in preparing for the reunion if you would let us know approximately how many plan to come. We do request that you make a reservation for a free breakfast on Sunday. This can be done on Saturday.

If you are a minister or preacher and would like to take part in the worship service on Sunday, please let me know as soon as you can. Also, we need a song leader for worship service.

We need help in locating and notifying the descendants. Please pass the word along. If you would like to know who your ancestor is, please send me your father and grandfather's names and I will do my best to let you know.

For any additional information you need regarding location, transportation. lodging and meals please contact us. Looking forward to seeing you in July.
