PRAYER TO CHRIST'S SHOULDER WOUND: It is related in the annals of Clairvaux that St. Bernard asked our Lord which was His greatest unrecorded suffering, and Our Lord answered: "I had on My Shoulder, while I bore My Cross on the Way of Sorrows, a grievous Wound, which was more painful than the others, and which is not recorded by men. Honor this wound with thy devotion, and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask through its virtue and merit. And in regard to all those who shall venerate this Wound, I will remit to them all their venial sins, and will no longer remember their mortal sins." O Loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou didst bear Thy heavy Cross, which so tore Thy flesh and laid bare Thy Bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other wound of Thy Most Blessed Body. I adore Thee, O Jesus most sorrowful; I praise and glorify Thee, and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and painful Wound, beseeching Thee by that exceeding pain, and by the crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins, and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Thy Cross. Amen. Imprimatur: Thomas D. Beven, Bishop of Springfield
Spare us, 0 Lord in the multitude of Your mercies; save us for the sake of Your most Holy Name. Our days were spent in vanity; wrest us from the hands of our enemy, and forgive our sins. Subdue in us the cravings of our flesh, so that, after putting off the old man, we may put on the new and live for You, our Lord and Benefactor; and that, obeying Your commandments, we may reach eternal repose in the place where all the blessed abide; for You are truly Joy and Delight to those who love You, 0 Christ our God. We send up glory to You, and to Your eternal Father, and to Your all-holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and forever. Amen.
You did not avert Your Face from the spit of Your torturers, yet You wash souls in saving waters. You accepted Your Scourging without complaint, yet, through Your meditation, You deliver us from endless chastisements. You endured ill-treatment of all kinds, yet You want to give us a share in the choirs of angels in glory everlasting. You did not refuse to be crowned with thorns, yet You save us from the wounds of sin. In your thirst You accepted the bitterness of gall, yet You prepare Yourself to fill us with eternal delights. You kept silence under the derisive homage rendered You by Your executioners, yet You petition the Father for us although You are His equal in divinity. You came to taste death, yet You were the Life and had come to bring it to the dead. Amen. Composed by Saint Gregory the Great

We trust completely in Your Mercy. Cleanse us from sin by Your Grace, sanctify our work, give us and all those who are dear to us our daily bread, lighten the burden of our sufferings, bless our families, and grant to the nations, so sorely afflicted, Your Peace, which is the only true peace, so that by obeying Your Commandments we may come at last to the glory of Heaven.
To all those faithful who shall recite for 3 years, each day, 2 Paters (Our Father's), 2 Aves (Hail Mary's), and 2 Glorias (Glory Be's) in honor of the drops of Blood I lost (during the Passion), I will concede the following 5 graces: 1) The plenary indulgence, and remittance of your sins. 2) You will be free from the pains of Purgatory. 3) If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had said them. 4) It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith. 5) I will descend from Heaven to take your soul, and those of your relatives until the fourth generation.
