Looking for information re George Lewis, b. 18 Jan 1830, in, I believe, Wales. Have no idea who his parents werre, nor do I know if he had any brothers, sisters. He emigrated to the U.S. with a contingent of miners to teach mining to the Americans. Destin
tion, from what I've been able to find out, was somewhere in the north-eastern part of the country. His first wife was Jane Fray. I have no other information about her, and I don't know if he married her in Wales, U.S., or Canada. I'm not sure when they c
me to Canada. I have always believed their third son, William Henry,(my grandfather) was born in Ontario, but I have as yet to find proof of that. There were two older boys, Martin Luther, born 1 Nov 1856, and Franklin J., born 6 Mar 1855. Martin married
lady by the name of Bess, and Franlkin died as a child. After William, they had Charles, b. April 1864, and another daughter, Nettie, born 28 May 1866. Nettie married a man by the name of Gorman, and lived in Lansing, Michigan.I have been able to find vi
tually nothing out about this family. If you have any ties to it, or can shed some light on them, please contact me. Most of the family is buried in Vanessa, Ontario. Nettie, I presume, is buried in Lansing, and William Henry is burried in Calgary, Albert

George also had a second wife, Almenia Sears. I have been in contact with some members of this family, but they don't have any more information about the first family than I do. If you have any information that might help me trace these roots, I'd appreci

I'm trying to track my ancestors back to Ireland. So far, I've followed the leads to East Port, Maine. My great-great grandfather (Jeremiah Dacy or Dacey or Deacy) landed there in 1832. He sailed out of Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. He died in Washin

Deacys up there in that general area. Can any one help me? I'd like to know eventually where exactly this Jeremiah came from in Ireland.

Steve Maryancik (no middle name)married to Mary Kostelnik. While I
have lot of information on my grandmother and the Kostelnick's
(there is a reunion long August week-end in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada)
I have not been able to make a connection with the Maryancik name.
I know it is Slovac, we are Greek Catholic, both my grandfather and great-
grandfather worked the coal mines in the Crowsnest Pass,(Blairmore,Alberta,
Canada)and moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. My grandfather, Steve, also
worked for Sick's Lethbridge Brewery. He was "Dido" to me and my brothers.
Our Baba never gave us a whole lot of information on him. He passed away
in 1951/52 at only age 51 or 52 from complications during an operation.
With no results for the Maryancik name, it could very well have been
changed or badly translated from the original. Steve and Mary have two
