Am attempting to document origins of Francis NEWBOLD, who married Comfort RODNEY, probably
in Indian River, Sussex County Delaware, 22 October, 1801. One source (Platt, 1964, in
book 'NEWBOLD Genealogy in America') relates that both individuals immigrated from England
shortly before their marriage. However, several other secondary sources speculate that
both individuals were born in Delaware. There are certainly enough NEWBOLDs and RODNEYs
living in Sussex Delaware in the 1700s for this speculation to have merit. Would greatly
appreciate anyone who could give me a lead on where to find documentation confirming either
origin story. Thanks!!!

Hi! I would be grateful for any assistance I could receive from you. I am seeking the heritage of my paternal grandmother's surname - EURODA (am not positive that spelling is correct). She and her relatives cannot be sources - they are now deceased. My gr
ndmother was born in 1913 in middle Michigan (around Cadillac). She was adopted into another family upon her mother's death in about 1916-17. She never knew much about her heritage, but suspected that she might have had a Polish aunt. My efforts to track
own this surname in English have been futile; it is a fairly unusual one. I wonder if it might not be Polish or from Eastern European origin. The language has limited my search with this. I speak English only.
Thank you for your assistance!
