Welcome to the official web site of the Fairfield University Ballroom Dance Club and Competition Team. It's nice of you to visit our site, but it would be even nicer of you to visit us in person at our next meeting or at one of our Upcoming Events. The Ballroom Dance Club meets regularly every week for an hour. We hope to see you soon. Please feel free to come by yourself or with friends, and whether you have danced before or not. Our club is not based on auditions or experience, so come and check us out! We have a great professional ballroom dance teacher from Arthur Murray's Dance Studio in Southport to teach you any dance that the group desires, including swing, salsa, tango, waltz, fox trot, and much more. So any week that you come, you will be able to get helpful assistance if you are a beginner, and additional knowledge and practice time if you are an advanced dancer.

For the more ambitious dancer we started the Competition Team, which also meets once a week, in addition to meeting with the club. Every meeting is mandatory for the team since we plan to compete in numerous competitions during the year and require a lot of devotion and energy from our team members. Team members are selected more on the basis of commitment and energy than on experience or audition.

The Ballroom Dance Club and Competition Team engage in other activities as well, including performances, unique fundraisers, trips to concerts and dance clubs, planning campus-wide events, and service projects such as teaching swing dancing to Holland Hill Elementary School fifth-graders for their annual musical. Feel free to check out our Photo Gallery pages to view pictures of the club having a great time participating in these activities.

So, if all of this sounds interesting and fun to you, give us a try. Ballroom dancing is a great way to meet new people, have fun with friends, exercise, try something new, and take a stress-relieving study break. Put some swing into your college experience!
