Meet Cadette Troop 6013

Cadette Troop 6013 is home to 8 girls between the ages of 12-14. We live in the vicinity of McGuire AFB, NJ. We have lots of fun talking and laughing! Keep visiting us, we'll be updating these pages a lot!

Where has the year gone?! It's wind down time! Finishing up loose ends and looking forward to summer!
Two of our girls participated in a canoe race in up-state New York, one girl finished in 6th place out of 12 and the other finished 11th out of 18! Way to paddle girls!
Our service project with the Daisies seems to have fallen through. The girls learned a valuable lesson, you just can't please everyone! We should have picked a day, time, and place and gone with it instead of trying to please everyone by changing the details! We've moved on to planning a different service project!
In the meantime, check out our Women's History Game! We still have two girls who need to post their part of the game, so come back next week and play again!
We're going to Hershey Park on June 6th. We'll be camping at the Hershey KOA that evening! Check back again in a couple of weeks for some pictures and the story!

Happy Girl Scout Leader Day! Parents and girls, please take a moment on April 22 to thank your favorite leader! Earth Day has also arrived! We are still working on a service project (a day at the park with the Daisies) and our Women's History Charades! It's time to choose the date for our trip to Hershey Park and our camping trip....we'll keep you posted!

March will be a busy month for our troop! Women's History Month and Girl Scout Birthday! We will be learning more about famous women in history (especially Juliette Low).Come and play our Women's History Charades(still under construction!) We are planning our service project for the Creative Cooking badge too!

A couple of girls from our troop participated in a council sponsored workshop for young entrepeneurs and learned a lot! In addition, one of our girls is working on all of the computer related badges and is hard at work on her very own web page...check out what she's done so far!

We had a family swim night with Brownie troop 3458, it was a lot of fun!
February brings Thinking Day. Click here to learn more about this special Girl Scout event or here to see photos from our community celebration.

January 24-February 16 is Girl Scout Cookie time! Click here to see how our sale is going!

Sports Insanity was a COGL (council of older girl leaders) sponsored event for Cadettes and Seniors. Five of our girls attended the event last week. The girls were locked in at a local health spa. They spent the night, and I mean all night, swimming, relaxing in the spa, playing raquetball, volleyball, basketball, and using the cardio-vascular machines. The girls had a great time! If your council is looking for a fun older girl event, we would recommend a health spa lock in!

January 2, 1998....Sleepover time at Smiley's house! Only four girls were able to come because of other plans for the holidays! First on the agenda was planning dinner, evening snack, and breakfast. Yes, they planned a fairly well-balanced meal after only a little prodding! We made our shopping list and headed off to shop! You would think these girls had never been to the grocery store! Maybe it was just that they had never been to the store with me! We took up too much space in the aisles, we skipped through the dairy section, and we had a lot of fun. The girls started to fix dinner when we arrived home. Pizza, crust from a box. Welllll, they didn't quite read the directions and ended up doubling the liquid! As I tried to assist with "fixing" the problem, we somehow ended up in a liquid pizza dough fight! Too funny! I was pretty much covered in slimy pizza goo. Then, splat, one of the girls turned into Gallagher and the watermelon was all over my floor! Talk about laughing! We made it through the rest of the cooking process without incident and the pizza was actually pretty good! As I was coming out of the bathroom, had to try to clean a little of the gooey mess up, I was bombarded with shaving cream!! (Yes, this sleepover was in my house!!) Once again, I headed off to clean up! The girls watched movies, and listened to cd's and had a great time! The next morning they fixed french toast and packed up their gear and then we sat down at the computer. Each girl made a button icon(see the Christmas wish list) and learned how to use html to place it on the page! They were pretty pleased with themselves and I was pretty proud! We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again, with the whole group next time!

Christmas Wishes

Jennifer..........I wish I could get a bike. Why, because my old one messed up. I would also like world peace. Why because there isn't a lot of peace. I really want world peace.

Ashley..........I can't exactly say it's a wish but I'd really like my own TV, computer (a nice one), playstation and vcr all built into one! I don't think it's been created yet but I can still dream!

Jen........What I really want for Christmas is for my good friend to like me though I accidentally hurting him, just put full peace between us.

Ambrosia......I would like a new car. I would love a blue convertible with a cd player because I get to drive this summer!!!!

Laura..........If I could choose anything for Christmas, I'd save the rainforest because it produces most of our air.

Jamie........I wish that I could get a trampoline for Christmas. I would have lots of fun and invite all my friends over for a trampoline party. Everyone will have fun!

Amber........I wish I could get my own roller skating rink. because my brother is always bothering me. So my brother can now have the TV and theSega Genesis while I get my own rink. It will be open to only my friends and people I know. My rink will have a built-in food stand, an entire stock of roller skating supplies, and most of all a music system.

Kimberly.....All I want for Christmas is everything!!! Including my private swimming pool, bowling alley, party room, free vending machines, movie theater, basketball court, baseball field, football field, soccer field, shopping mall, Cher's house with all her clothes (but in my size!), pool table, roller and ice rinks, 5th Avenue, jet plane, 5 corvettes, Barbie corvette, JB, the biggest candy cane in the world and world peace!!!!!
