On February 22, 1987, I was brought into the world as the daughter of Joni and Bill. My only sibling, Samantha, is four and a half years older then me. I have spent my whole life in Port Washington. I have only moved once in my life, and that was to a different house in Port. Both of my parents parents live in neighboring towns, so as a young child I recall spending a lot of time with them. My heritage is very mixed, despite the fact that all of my grandparents were born in the United States. My mothers parents came from Poland and Tyrol and my father has roots from Russia, Hungary and Poland. Growing up, although our family didnt actively celebrate any major traditions from those countries, we always ate customary foods at holidays. My mother is Catholic whereas my father is Jewish. Therefore, I was brought up being acquainted with both religions, although I never went to synagogue or church on a regular basis. Presently, I am in the ninth grade at Schreiber High School. I work relatively hard, but I still try to leave room for having fun. I spend most of my free time during the school day and on weekends with my group of girlfriends, who are all wonderful people. I also tutor kids at the Middle School who need some extra help in school twice a week. I enjoy working with younger kids, and helping them try to achieve their personal goals. I dont participate in many sports during the school year, but I sail throughout the whole summer. Recently, I got a boat so I have also had to prepare it for the summer. My father and I work on it together, since he is a very avid sailor. Now, I am an only child because my sister is at George Washington College. Although I have a general idea of what I want my life to be like, I dont know any of the specifics. Im not the type of person that can make big decisions easily, so I havent really decided what I want to be yet. I do know that I want to go to college, and then graduate school if its necessary for the occupation I choose. I want the job that I choose to enable me to help other people, but there are a wide variety of jobs for me to consider. Additionally, I know that I want my job will have to be one that allows me to be active. I know that I want to get married, probably around the age of twenty-six or twenty-seven. Id like to have at least two, if not three, children. I think that Ill probably decide to bring my children up as one particular religion, although they will also celebrate the other religions holidays as well. Just like I was brought up, I want my children to be very close with their grandparents. All of this, however, will probably change because I am incapable of sticking with one decision.
