Rates

Web Design

For all websites, I follow a clear business outline that identifies your needs as an organization, focuses on your goals, helps expedite the process of web design, establishes realistic expectations (for both you and me), eliminates confusion, and produces the most cost effective solution. This process is outlined here.

Static Website (no back-end database)

  • Initial Client Meeting - free!
  • Contract Establishment - included
    (25% of the final cost is due at contract signing)
  • Stockholders meetings - included
  • Mock-up Design - $50 per mock-up
  • Homepage Design - $150 (includes up to 5 graphics)
  • Subpages - $100 each (up to 3 graphics/images per page)
  • Additional graphic or image - $15 each
  • Usability Testing - $100 test design fee + $25 per seat (i.e. - 10 seat test = $100 design fee + $250 participant fee)
  • Revisions and Implementation - included

So, for example, a 10 page website with 3 initial mock-ups, no additional graphics, and a 10 seat usability test would cost $1550. This price covers roughly 50 to 60 hours of work.

Rates subject to negotiation when a website maintenance and content updating contract is desired.

Dynamic Website

Dynamic websites allow content to be updated via a database rather than per page. This is great for applications such as bookstores and shopping pages - rather than design a page for each piece of merchandise, you design a template that draws the content for each item out of a database. Therefore, if you need to update your product line, you only need to edit the database - the website will take care of itself!

Dynamic websites are built according to the same fee schedule as above but include additional charges for database design and back-end programming. All database design and back-end programming is provided by my partner, Mark Lehmann.

Website Maintenance

All websites need periodic maintenance and static sites need frequent content updating. All maintenance work is performed at the rate of $25 per hour, but contracts are also available. Maintenance contracts are developed on a client to client basis.

Graphic Layout and Logo Design

All graphic layout and logo design work is performed at the rate of $25 per hour. An estimate will be given on the final price, but is subject to change according to the actual time taken in the design process.

Digital Photography, Compositing, and Editing

All digital photography, compositing, and editing work is performed at the rate of $25 per hour plus the cost of any equipment. Equipment charges available upon request. An estimate will be given on the final price, but is subject to change according to the actual time taken in the design process. Any travel necessary will be charged at the rate of $.35 per mile.

Video Production

All videography services, including studio rentals, are provided in conjunction with Concordia Communications, a part of Concordia University at Austin. Quotes available upon request.
