The Packers come into San Diego for Super Bowl XXXII riding high following their big 23-10 victory over San Francisco in the NFC championship game. Brett Favre and the offense is firing on all cylinders, while Fritz Shurmer's defense is stepping it up at the right time. Dorsey Levens continued to steamroll opponents on his way to a team playoff rushing record 114 yards and Antonio Freeman once again had a big game going over 100 yards receiving and adding a touchdown. The Packer ' D ', which has been terrorizing opponents over the past seven games, limited the niners' rejuvinated rushing attack to just 33 yards on 18 carries. In short, Packer fans witnessed total domination on January 11 at 3Com Park. Now it's on to the Super Bowl and the Denver Broncos. So far, the Packers have met all expectations to repeat as champions but this may be the toughest test yet. Denver sports the leading rusher in the AFC in Terrell Davis as well as the ageless wonder, John Elway. They come in with a very well schooled offensive line that, although undersized, could cause Reggie and Co. some problems. Denver is capable of putting some points on the board and they may do so early, but the Packer D has been playing sound football as of late and will not make the kind of mistakes to allow the Broncos to light it up. Expect Brett Favre to be able to attack Denver's gambling corners with success. I don't believe Denver will be able to keep up with the Pack in a track meet type 42-40 game, so scoring early will be a key. The real KEY to this game, though, lies in how Denver will handle the Packer rushing attack. The Broncos were very vulnerable against the rush during the regular season, although they did not show it against Bettis and the Steelers last week when Pittsburgh's rushing game never got untracked. Denver's defensive ends, Alfred Williams and Neil Smith, are both very aggressive pass rushers and I see Dorsey Levens taking advantage of this by running inside with effectiveness. Look for the Packers to mix in some play action passes as well after they have established the run. Dorsey Levens will have a HUGE game, maybe win the MVP and the Packers will roll.
