Cuesta I found four players, Doug, Jim, Nate and Eric, ready to test their skills. At hole two Eric was the only player not to get a deuce, but at hole three Eric was the only player to get a deuce. All players got a deuce on hole four. The four-way tie finally broke at hole seven as Doug and Jim got deuces. Nate suffered an OB on hole eight to further separate from the pack. After nine holes Doug and Jim were tied at 24, Eric was one back at 25 and Nate was under par with a 26.
The shakeup started on a revised hole ten as Eric deuced and Doug bogeyed. Doug, Jim and Eric all deuced hole twelve. Nate jumped back into the thick of things with an ACE on hole fourteen, sliding into the lamp post. Doug flailed with another bogey at hole fifteen. Nate claimed the only deuce on hole seventeen as Doug and Jim bogeyed to fall off the pace. A makeup hole for the final hole produced no change in the leaders. Nate, added a back nine best of 24 to finish at 50. Eric duplicated his front nine 25 to come in at 50. First half leaders Doug and Jim both fell to 28 on the back nine to tie with 52. Everybody finished under par though!
