Apparently all the deuces took Thanksgiving holiday off, leaving no one to play the La Colina course.
November 27th, 1999
Doug and Jim had a quiet game at Oak Meadow following the holiday. Doug fell behind on the first hole after a fumbled putt. Jim gained another stroke at hole two with a perfect drive, leaving a fairly easy putt for the first deuce of the day. Doug converted a good drive on hole three into his first deuce of the day. The long hole four tested both throwers as Jim bogeyed and Doug double-bogeyed. The next five holes were evenly matched, leaving Jim with a 28 at the turn and Doug at 30.
Jim gave one stroke back at hole ten, and then took it right back on the next hole with a deuce. Both players deuced hole twelve for the highlight of the day. Jim gave up one stroke of his lead at hole fifteen with a bogey. It came down to the last hole with Jim holding a one stroke lead. Neither player got off a great drive, but Doug got close on his approach. Jim's approach left him with a 20 yard tester that he was unable to convert. Doug made a par to pull even for the day. At the end scores were Doug 30-26 for a 56 and Jim 28-28 for a 56.
