As Doug and Eric were warming up for the week's play at the new Coyote Creek Disc Golf Course, new comer Chris Illes drove up and introduced himself. Doug and Chris discovered that they had both been playing lunch time ultimate at the same field in Cupertino! Chris, though more used to throwing an UltraStar, selected a classic, blunt-edge 71 mold for golf and joined the group for his first trip around the course.
Eric jumped into the lead on the first hole with a par, as everyone else bogeyed. Doug caught back up as he parred hole three while Eric bogeyed. Eric took the lead back at hole four, but Doug answered with the first deuce of the day on the next hole. Matching scores on the rest of the holes left Doug and Eric tied at 29 after nine holes. Chris carded a few bogeys and was a few strokes behind.
On the back nine, Chris borrowed a more modern bevel-edge fromDoug and found that he was getting a little more distance. Doug and Eric continued their see-saw battle for the lead. Eric took the lead at holetwelve, but Doug caught up at hole fourteen with another deuce. Eric moved back into the lead at hole fifteen, but Doug came back on the next hole with a three on the longest hole of the course. At hole seventeen Eric claimed the lead once more. On the last hole Doug had the best drive, but was unable to convert the long putt and Eric held onto his lead to claim victory for the week. Chris had some more bogeys, and a lot of fun on his first time out with the the Deuces.

Eric takes home winner of the week honors with a 57 at tough Coyote Creek.
