The Labor Day Saturday gathering at Foothill College had slight miscue. Doug was delayed slightly by some unusual construction taking place on I-280. He arrived at about 7:31AM, but Eric had given up and left at 7:30AM, when nobody had shown up. Driving around the one-way loop on the campus, they probably just missed each other. They discovered this unfortunate occurrence when the both met the following holiday Monday.
Doug and Eric met at Central Park for a quiet day of holiday play. Doug started with an OB on hole one, and struggled with a natural 5 on hole two as Eric parred both. Eric went OB in the sand on hole three as Doug parred. Both managed their first deuce of the day at the tall Cylinder. Doug opened a big lead at hole five with another deuce while Eric struggled with a 5. After nine holes, Doug had a three stroke lead over Eric with a 28.
The back nine brought some better play as Doug deuced hole ten and both playeres deuced hole eleven. Doug blundered away part of his lead with a 5 and a 4 on the next two holes while Eric was parring. Doug finished with a string of three deuces in a row to claim victory for the day at one under par.

Congratulations to Doug, who had enough deuced to wipe out his bogeys.
