August 14th, 1999

Lakewood Park found Chris, Sam, Jim and Doug ready to play. Sam scored the first deuce of the day at hole two with a long forehand approach, and Doug immediately followed with another on a long approach that slid into the tree. Meanwhile, Chris had his disc trapped by a tree for a penalty on the hole. Steady play occurred by all, as keeping the bogeys off the score card turned out to be the best thing. After nine, Doug had a deuce and a bogey for a par 27. Jim was one stroke behind with only one bogey. Sam's deuce was balanced by four bogeys for a 30 and Chris tallied a 34.

Hole eleven produced the big event of the day as Doug curved his drive onto the park building roof for an OB. The disc had a little sentimental value, so Doug decided to climb for it. On the first attempt to make the roof, Doug lost his balance while being boosted up and fell backwards to his back and elbow. With a different plan, he made it to the roof on the next attempt. As he was getting down, he dangled his legs over the edge, but while pushing off, he rotated over backwards, again crashing onto his back. Meanwhile Sam was converting a good drive into a deuce. Bad luck plagued Doug at hole thirteen as a tree caught his disc for another OB. Jim was nailing a deuce on the hole for a three stroke swing. A deuce by Jim on the garbage can of fifteen was matched with a deuce by Doug on sixteen at the pill box.

Jim's 28 on the back nine, brought him to 56 for the day. Doug's struggling 29 on the back nine also put him at 56. Sam and Chris both had a 30 on the back nine to come in at 60 and 64 respectively.
