The fifth Saturday of the month found the Deuces at Coyote Creek. Jim Hauer took the first tee honors from his finish the previous week, He was joined by Doug, Sam Jeff, John and Chris. Many holes were in different positions than usual. John scored an early deuce at the first hole played (17). Hole two (18) has a longer back tee and yielded no deuces. Hole three (10) was at a longer position and everyone bogeyed. Chris strung out eight consecutive 4's, before breaking the string with a 5. Steady play landed most players a par or a bogey. Jim Challas, arrived late, joining the group at hole seven (14). We were lucky to find his first drive as he played up for a bogey. At hole eight (15), Jim Challas drove up the hill, pin high for the only other deuce of the front nine. After nine John Davis had 28, with Jim Hauer and Doug one stroke behind at 29. Sam had 30, Jeff 34 and Chris a 37. With penalty holes, Jim Challas would have recorded a 45.

Scores remained tight as everyone fought to keep the bogeys out of their column. Jim Challis managed eight pars on the back nine for a 28. John Davis and Sam Stowell had 29. Doug and Jim Hauer had 30., as Chris had 33 and Jeff 36. John Davis was declared the winner with 57 for the day, followed by a three way tie at 59 by Doug, Sam and Jim Hauer. Jeff and Chris tied with 70.
