Maywood found six players ready to tackle one of the easier courses. Doug, Sam, and Jeff from the previous week were joined by Jim, Rich and Eric. Doug managed to get stuck in a tree on hole one as Jim, Rich and Eric all got deuces. Jim took the lead at hole two with another deuce. Doug turned a good drive on hole four into a deuce. Eric and Rich had huge drives at hole five for easy deuces on the big tree. At hole eight, Rich caught an invisible breeze and drove past the hole for the longest drive in memory. Rich converted his deuce and Sam matched it, making a long approach. Rich finished the front nine with a deuce, while Eric was recovering an errant roller from the street. Rich held the lead after nine with a 23, closely followed by Jim with a 25. Eric and Doug had 26, Sam 27 and Jeff 30.
Hole eleven yielded deuces to Jeff, Rich and Eric. Hole twelve found Doug, Jim and Eric with deuces. Rich turned the best drive on hole thirteen into the only deuce of the group. Sam and Eric double deuced holes fourteen and fifteen as Jim joined them on fifteen with a deuce. A tight race came down to hole eighteen at the "Chamber of Deuces". Eric and Rich both got into the chamber, but Rich's sliding putt was deflected away from the target by a crack in the concrete. Eric made his deuce, which turned out to be the stroke needed for victory. Sam closed out his round with a deuce in the chamber also.
Eric's sizzling back nine included 5 deuces to give him a 48 for the day. Rich was one stroke behind at 49, while Jim had 51. Doug settled for a par 54, Sam a 56 and Jeff 59. Good rounds for everyone.

Congratulations to Eric Mickelson as Winner of the Week
