Doug found his way to the right course at Foothill College this week and found John Davis, Chris Illes and Sam Stowell waiting to go. John claimed the early lead, starting off with a deuce on hole one. Sam hit a deuce on hole three. Scores were generally high on each hole, with a different player mastering each hole. John managed a deuce on hole seven while everybody else bogeyed! Chris nailed his deuce on hole nine. After nine holes Doug had stayed even with John at 30. Sam had 33 and Chris 34. If you took the best individual score from each hole and tallied those as if one player had got them, the best score for the front nine would have been 24, quite different from the actual scores.

John scored another deuce at hole thirteen. Chris claimed two more deuces on the back nine, at holes fifteen and seventeen. Doug claimed his only deuce of the day at seventeen also. Many bogeys littered the score sheet. Doug edged John on the back nine 28 versus 29. Sam and Chris improved from the front nine with 31 and 32 respectively.

Totals for the day found Doug at 58, John at 59, Sam with 64 and Chris a 66.
