Doug welcomed a large crew to his "home course" of Oak Grove. Joining Doug were Jim, Chris, Sam, Rich, John and first-timer Jeff Tuckwood. The grass was a little high and saturated with the morning dew.

Play got underway with Doug and John scoring deuces at the first hole. Immediately after Doug tee'd off at hole two, he suffered a freak muscle pull in his left calf and found himself unable to walk. Doug had to drop out of the round. Sam joined the leaders with a deuce hole hole two. Rich, Sam and Jim all hit deuces on hole four and John hit one on hole five to stay with the pack. Sam double deuced holes six and seven and Rich stayed close to him with a deuce at hole six also.Jim, Rich and John all deuced hole eight to close out the deuces on the front nine. After nine holes, Sam was the leader at 23, with four deuces, closely followed by Rich at 24, John with 25 and Jim with 27, while Chris and Jeff slipped into the 30's.

On the back nine Rich charged into the lead with deuces on hole eleven and thirteen and added one more at seventeen. John claimed deuces on fourteen, sixteen and seventeen, but faltered with a couple of bogeys at eleven and fifteen. Sam played all pars on the back nine, while Jim managed a single deuce on hole seventeen. Chris and Jeff played a little better on the back nine with fewer bogeys than the front nine. Totals after the back nine found Rich in the lead with a 48. Sam's good front nine gave him a 50 at the finish. One back at 51 was John, and Jim finished with 53. Chris had a good round at 62 and Jeff stayed in the 60's with a 69.
