January 1st, 1999

Doug and Chris played a casual first round to start the New Year. Chris missed the tough mandatory of hole one and started with a 6. Both players went O.B. in the sand at hole four. Doug claimed the first deuce of the day at hole five and another one at hole eight. Doug was just under par after nine while Chris was over par.

Both players claimed deuces on hole eleven. Doug also hit deuces on holes fourteen, sixteen and eighteen. Though missing a makeable putt at hole seventeen, Doug finished with a 50 for the day. On the back nine, Chris had one of his best nine hole scores of 28.

January 2nd, 1999

Eric joined Doug and Chris in the first Saturday round of the New Year at Maywood Park. Doug and Eric started with deuces on hole one. Eric double-deuced at holes four and five and hit another at hole seven. Doug matched two of those deuces at holes five and seven. Chris scored a deuce at hole nine. After nine holes, the score stood at Eric -24, Doug - 26, and Chris 30.

Eric opened up his lead, by gaining a stroke on each of the next three holes, including two deuces. Just as Doug was ready to concede the day to Eric, he got hot and finished with five deuces on the last six holes for a 23 on the back nine. Eric stumbled badly at hole fourteen with an O.B. and a missed putt for a five, but he matched Doug's challenging finished, coming in with a 24 on the back nine. Chris joined everyone with a deuce on hole seventeen, but O.B. shots at hole eleven and the Chamber of Deuces on eighteen left him with a 29 on the back nine.

Final scores for the day found Eric pulling out a victory over Doug for the week by one stroke with a 48. Chris had to be pleased with his best round yet with the Deuces.
