The Ceremony

My parents escort me down the aisle. This was a strange thing for us because my parents raised me to be very independent and didn't think of me as theirs to give away. I wanted my parents to be part of the ceremony, however, so we decided they would just walk down with me, give me a kiss, then sit down.

Here we are exchanging rings during the ceremony. We tried to make the ceremony as personal as possible. My sister gave a reading, we had one of Cathy's friends sing a couple of songs (one while Karen, Bonnie, and Jess were walking down the aisle and one during the ceremony when we gave each of our parents roses) and we wrote our own vows.

Our first kiss.

We were all smiles after the ceremony. I think this is the only photo where you can see my shoes at all. I searched and searched for shoes and then I don't think anyone ever noticed them or could even see them!

We did it! Actually, this was taken before the ceremony. I was so glad we did that so we could spend more time with our guests. We didn't have enought time as it was.
