THE RULES!
We are ready and have a date set, you can see the schedule on the GHL communityzero site (actually we wait Keith's return on Monday Dec 11 to finalize schedule). Due to timing and other commitments we will play the series one game per day. Games will be played each day as the GM's get their lines in.
I have added 4 more players to each teams rosters to add an element of juggling combinations. For the most part these players were the next highest vote getters in each position, however in some cases (ties) I selected another vote getter to try to get a rep from all the teams.

Below is the format and rules;
Simm settings; Experience - on, Coaches affect play - on everything else turned off
Coaches; GM's can choose any coach from their division.
7 game series.
Extra players can play 2 games max. There is no guarantee the extra players will get to play at all, it is the GM's discretion how they wish to use these players, if at all.
Each goalie must play at least 3 games, however it is the coaches discretion which games they choose to play which goalies in.
All players on pro bench must be in the even strength lineup.
Each team will be permitted to changes lines after each game. The Gm's may choose to leave the lines the same if no changes are wanted or if the change is minor the can send the changes. Hopefully the pressure to win on the Gm's won't cause them too long to make their decisions after each game...... ;-)
The teams will alternate home games as per the NHL 7 game format, a toss of a coin has determined that the American conference will be at home for game 1,2,5&7 The Canadian Conference will be home team for games 3,4&6.
At the end of the series each GM must supply the series 3 stars from the others teams.

Series overview... "Who is the King of Kennedy Street?"
Put a cat and dog in a small room, two bull rhino's in a pond of females in heat or the undertaker in the ring with Kane and you get a picture of what this series is all about. For those who may not know there is a very historic and long lasting rivalry with these dudes. Now that the GM's have given them their weapons they will go for the blood! I can also see Harris's blood as he probably will get hit by a puck while watching a game. The American conference has won the previous Allstar series 4 - 2 - 1, and wants to make it 2 in a row. No matter what happens or what the outcome we should have a colourfull and entertaining series and to the winner......  bragging rights to "King of Kennedy street 2000"

May the best team prevail, ;-)

THE STORY!
Game 1, The Canadian team snipers were in force as Hossa and Blake each had 2 goals in a 6-2 pasting of the American conference team. The American conference got 2 point performances from LeClair and Turgeon but the goaltending looked suspect. Things looked pretty typical until the second period when the Canuck conference opened up the game and never looked back. Greinke displayed his dissatisfaction after the game as he was heard firing a very large pile of  #%^$@ at the team in the dressing room. Belanger was asked in the local bar what he thought of the game "Same old story, we played well, really not much trouble handling their fat asses, pretty much the way it was years ago on Kennedy Street" This is a big away win for the Canadian conference and Keith will have his hands full retooling for game 2.

Game 2, After a tongue wagging only a mother could give the American Conference respond with a controlled game and 3 - 1 win. All the scoring took place in the first as the American Allstars got off to a quick jump and got solid tending from Salo. Selanne, Turgeon and Timonen had 2 points each while Blake scored the lone Canadian goal. Greinke was still pumped from the previous game and was heard screaming at Belanger after the game "I am the King and don't you forget it!" Belanger at his usual bar stool with a brew after the game said " Poor guy has a chip on his shoulder, like after all these years one win and he thinks he is King... you know that was the same way it was years ago in Winnipeg, he wins one game in 10 and claims the cup hahahahha, I'll roast his sorry ass next game!"

Game 3, The Canadians were pressing in the second period and it ended tied at 2. When the third period started someone forgot to tell the Canadian conference...  The American conference scored 5 goals in the third to steal a big win. Sakic and Pronger each had 3 points to lead the way. Jagr had a strong game with 2 goals, but the Yzerman, Demitra, Blake, Elias and Lidstrom line were minus 3 for the game. The American conference now leads the series 2 -1 and Belanger is scratching his head on the unusual third period. Belanger and Greinke had their usual heated post game exchange and Dean was heard by all saying to Keith.. "That's it buddy, no Mr. nice guy... time for the secret weapon next game!"  No one but Keith likely knows what that means, but the American conference GM definitely had a concerned look on his face.

Game 4, And the words were spoken and so it was so.......  Belanger said "secret weapon" but looking at the line score one can't figure it out. The Canadian squad snapped 5 pucks past Salo before he knew he was in the game. Enter Turek who watched two more discs speed by as the Belanger led team coasted to a 7-3 win. Once again Greinke erupted after the game claiming the Canadian squad was up to something illegal. "Damned the Belanger.... he never plays by the rules, I heard someone say they saw a pyramid behind the Canadian bench and if that is true I want to file a protest!" Belanger heard the accusations and laughed it off in between a few well earned gulps of brew..  "Pyramid power Keith says... <smirk> that went out with Red Story, tell that fat ass Greinke to come up with something better."  Yzerman and Bure had a strong game and 8 Canadian players had 2 points each. The series now becomes a best 2 of 3.

Game 5, It appears that both GM's have got down to business and focused on the game. The American conference was in cruise control holding a 2 goal lead at the end of 2 periods. In the third things went sour, the Canadians came out strong and scored a quick goal on the power play and Jagr tied the game at the 10 min mark. Both teams played the remaining time in the third very tight and the game went into overtime. Jagr proved why he is the man scoring a quick goal in overtime to steel the game from the American conference. Turgeon had 2 points in a loosing effort, the American conference gave up 2 pp goals. Neither GM would comment after the game, which for these to blabber mouths is very unusual.  I suspect now that the series is at a point where the King of Kennedy street may be crowned there won't be much time for yappy doodling  ;-)  Canadian conference leads series 3-2 and one more win will sink the American conference hopes.

Game 6, Talk about your soap opera! The Canadian Conference had a noose on the American conference neck but couldn't quite pull it tight. This has been a series of fumbles, it seems it is better to be loosing at the end of 2 then be ahead. The Canucks had a 4-2 lead slip away when the American Conference pulled out all the stops in the third to send the game into overtime. The big woolley mamouth Derian Hatcher led the American charge in the third potting a goal and an assist. The overtime was wild as the ref put the whistle in his pocket and let em play..  the offence was non existent as both teams did everything possible to hang on as there were only 3 total shots in O/T. Pavel Bure a with a hat trick and Zubov with 3 points played an outstanding game for the Canadian conference. In only the second time in the Allstar series has there been a tie game after overtime. So the stage is set, Belanger has the champagne on ice as the American conference must win game 7 to salvage a tie and make the first allstar series a no decision. Now ain't that a friggin possibility, I can't imagine how dull that will be if they tie and we can't watch them dump crap all over each other...  Well folks Monday's game is going to tell the tale! (P.S. The damn simm in exhibition mode will only go one overtime period.)

Game 7, A GHL first was set tonight as the American conference pull out a big win and save face in the series making it dead even!  What are the chances of that? What was drummed up a battle of too old foes and the bragging rights for one and shame and disgrace for the other turned out a draw!  I for one am surely going to miss the scathing verbal barrage that would have accompanied a win for one team over the other..  But on the other hand maybe not settling the score will add to the rivalry even more who knows?  In the Game the American conference made it clear they weren't going to loose, Salo nailed a shutout in what was likely the best performance by a tender in the series. Modano who was quiet all series drilled two goals for the winning team. It was all American conference tonight, the Canadian boys had their chances but there was not enough finish around the net. Belanger shook his head after the game and congratulated his team for their strong performance.." Boys we have nothing to be ashamed of.. they roasted us last year and we came back this year. I am disappointed that we couldn't shut that big trap of Greinke so we will have to wait for next time". Keith was singing and skipping around the dressing room passing out cigars and beer..  "What a game, we not only won the big game we stuck them hard LOL I will tell you now if we had their candy asses one more game we would send them packing" Well, all that remains is the series allstar report from the GM's. It certainly ended up the way no one would think so for no I guess Big All will have to be the King of Kennedy street until a successor is crowned ;-)

Series ends up in a draw 3 -3 -1
Great job guys, real good technical battle with the lines...  thanx
Big Al
