Redmen and Martlets suffer upset in Quebec City during the Conference Cup II

After winning four consecutive conference meets over the past season and a half, both McGill swim teams suffered a disappointing second place finish to University of Laval. While the second place finish brings the overall conference score a bit closer, McGill continues to lead overall as a result of their dominating performance in Montreal in late October. The only top finisher for the Redmen was David Allard, who walked away with wins in the 400m IM, 50m Breaststroke, and 100m Breaststroke. Martlets Elaine Duranceau and Lisa Virgini were both victorious with wins from Duranceau in the 400m IM and 800m freestyle, and a win from Virgini in the 200m backstroke. Virgini also place second in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly. McGill's swimmers return to action on the road next weekend, swimming Guelph and Waterloo on Friday, and MacMaster on Saturday.
