Second-team All-Big East in '95 and '96. Started at rover in '95 and at free safety in '96. Had 37 tackles and three interceptions in '93, 61-4 in '94, 87 tackles in '95 - then picked off two passes in the Sugar Bowl - and 76 stops, 10 passes broken up and two interceptions in '96. Active with adequate size, very good stopwatch speed and good range. Runs and covers better than most safeties. Can play free or strong safety. Can cover the tight end or back out of the backfield. Shows some man-on-man cover skills. Reads and runs the field pretty well. Slow to shed blocks at times. Does not appear to have great range or cover skills. Does not have a great catch-up burst. Inconsistent angles to the ball. May lack a cornerback's quickness. One of the better safeties in the draft. |
