Introduction

Rugby was developed in England as a take-off of soccer, and supposedly began when a soccer player at the Rugby School in England (hence the name of the sport) reportedly picked up the soccer ball and began to run with it. This may not be exactly how the game began, but that's the story. Anyway, the game went on to become a full-tackle, no-pads sport that's just tons-o-fun to play and watch. Rugby is played much as it was when first invented, and is enjoyed by enthusiasts all over the world. While men's rugby is decidedly more violent as a result of men's greater strength (and possibly egos), women's rugby, played by the same rules, is rough but more fluid and fast-moving, as a result of women's greater flexibility, quickness and agility.
