BBMak
"Sooner Or Later"    (Telstar Records)

Rating: ***
Choice Cuts: "Back Here," "More Than Words," "Still On Your Side"

Yes, one might just want to label them as just an other boyband
upon seeing their smouldering good looks. But wait till you
find out what they have to offer.

Hailing from UK, here come 3 regular lads who managed to
impress the British media after 3 songs at the Radio Academy's showcase in London. That was easy, with their strong vocal talents
and of course, the ability to play their own instruments.
The new criteria for all popstar wannabes.

"Sooner or Later" is laden with such heavyweight names in  the industry, which suggests Telstar is serious on marketing them as
"The Next Big Thing".
On the albumís credits note are notable song writers such as Phil Thornally (Natalie Imbruglia) and BeBe Winan (George Michael, Aretha Franklin, Eternal, Whitney Houston), star producers like Steven Lipson (Annie Lennox, Simple Minds), Anders Bagge (Deetah, 98 Degress) and of course, the legendary Oliver Leiber, whose credits includes the phenomenon "Talk On Corners" by The Corrs.

Their first single "Back Here" is already playing on rotation at the local radio stations. With an infectious melody and a catchy beat, one canít help singing along with them when the chorus starts. They have also done a marvelous cover version of the Extremeís "More Than Words"; strategically placed as the last song that ends the album beautifully.

Other tracks off the album are easy to listen to. "Still On Your Side"   talks about how one will be able to find someone still on their side   even when others let you down. "Next time", "I Can Tell",
"Can't Say" have varying degrees of similarity,
but certainly not the typical album fillers.

For a young band like them, this is a very commendable debut effort. Combining their talents and good looks which serves an added advantage, along with a few promotional tours and
a strong marketing team, BBMak will soon be
making their mark in the music industry.
A No.1 hit wouldn't be far away.
