State Capitol Building in Lansing
This is the State Capitol building at night.
As you can see from the arrow, there is much construction going on in a nearby building.
Our hotel was the Radisson, one block away.
Hail, hail, the gangs all here on the Capitol's steps! All are present except for Analisa Mackie, our roving reporter out to get the "scoop." She had a much different schedule than the rest, being with the press.
Here is the Michigan Supreme Court, newly rennovated.
This is the hallway between the House of Representatives and the Senate. If you look over the railing, you can see down to the first floor. One floor above this and you can sit in the balcony of either the House or Senate and have an eagle eye view of all the proceedings on either floor. The balconies have glass railings.
This picture was taken from a horizontal position. It is of the inside of the capitol's dome. Notice the stars in the ceiling and the etchings in gold.
