Analisa Mackie is a junior at Bay City Central High School. She had the priviledge of attending Student Congress in Lansing. Here is what she had to say:

Q: What were your duties at Lansing Student Congress?
A: Interviewing a speaker of the House candidate, writing an interview and bill summary, writing an editorial, writing an article, and meeting all deadlines.
Q: In your own words, what is Student Congress all about?
A: It's about making the U.S. Goverment come alive. Students experience what its all about instead of just reading all about it.
Here is Analisa with one of two newspapers she helped to create at the three day Student Congress event.
Q: What did you learn of value while at Student Congress?
A: I learned about sacrificing for your job. (lots of deadlines)

Q: Finish the sentence. "Student Congress is a great experience for someone who..."
A: "Student Congress is a great experience for someone who wants to EXPERIENCE government."

Q: How can someone get involved in Student Congress?
A: Do well at Discussion Festival the previous spring.
