Kirin |
The leader of the 7 Fukudoujin, who finally comes and takes Akane away. He holds the other half of the scroll, whose power comes when both halves are used as a pair, so there is a rule that the bearers of the two pieces must marry. He takes Akane away to his castle in China. Ranma and company go to rescue her. Appears in the first movie: "Chuugoku Nekonron daikessen! Okite yaburi no gekitou hen." or "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China. The battle which defies all odds." Uses chopsticks as weapons. Wears a cape and has baggy pants.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Bishamonten |
Armor-wearing, polearm wielding guard of the 7 Fukudoujin. Keeper of the first castle gate. Appears in the first movie. Represents Bishamon(ten) of the 7 Fukujin, the God of War and Defense, whose spear is said to protect people from evil.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Daikokusei and Daihakusei |
The go-playing twins of the 7 Fukudoujin. Keepers of the second castle gate. They both wear black pants and a blue shirt, but Daikokusai has a white circle (go piece?) on his shirt whereas Daihakusai has a black circle. Appears in the first movie.
These two seem to resemble Daikoku and Fukurokuju of the 7 Fukujin, but not very well. Daikokusai doesn't resemble Daikoku at all. They look more alike than Fukurokuju and Juroujin and play go (as black and white) instead of karuta.
Fukurokuju, the God of Wealth and Longevity, a very old man with a huge bald head a long full beard. He holds a crooked cane with a scroll attached to the top containing the secret to gaining wealth and longevity. Usually accompanied by a crane, another longevity symbol.
Juroujin, the similar God of Longevity, who looks very much like Fukurokuju. He holds a similar cane, and also a flat fan in one hand. Usually accompanied by a stag. He and Fukurokuju are usually confused, though they have different origins. They've been depicted playing karuta together.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Muu |
One word to describe this guy. BIG. Keeper of the third castle gate, this guy is practically a walking wall. While he doesn't have any weapons, weapons don't seem to have any effect on him at all. How does he attack? He SITS on people ^_^. Appears in the first movie. Represents Hotei of the 7 Fukujin.
Hotei, the potbellied God of Happiness and Prosperity, who carries a huge sack of treasures to ensure a happy and prosperous life like a treasure hammer, a money-producing purse, etc.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Monron |
Only female of the 7 Fukudoujin. Plays a biwa, which she uses as a weapon. Keeper of the fourth castle gate. Appears in the first movie. Represents Benten of the 7 Fukujin.
Ben(zai)ten is the Goddess of Arts and Wisdom, a talented beauty who plays the biwa.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Ebiten |
Kirin's "right-hand man." He may be short, but he's tough. Wears fishermen-style clothes and wields a fishing rod which can be used for many things like grabbing people, tying people up, and attacking people. Appears in the first movie. Represents Ebisu of the 7 Fukujin.
Ebisu, the smiling God of Fishing and Commerce worshipped by merchants, usually depicted with a fishing rod and a huge red sea bream.

She tracks him down to the Tendou doujou and throws the scroll at him. It ends up in Akane's hands, just as the "prince", Kirin, arrives. Appears in the first movie.
Entrance: Movie 1: "Big Trouble in Nekoron, China."Touma |
A young martial artist on the magical island Tougenkyou with a spring that turns animals into animal-men (this gives some people some ideas, eh? ^_^). The Ranma 1/2 cast gets shipwrecked there and all the girls are kidnapped to compete to be Touma's bride. Appears in the second movie: "Kessen Tougenkyou! Hanayome o torimodose!!" or "Decisive Battle at Tougenkyou! Bring Back the Brides!!"
